Experience

  • Technical PM for a Novel UAS Technology Demonstrator aimed at leveraging innovative approaches to realise 10x cost and 5x time savings against current procurement programmes. Responsible for definition and execution of the delivery approach with a cross-functional team dispersed across 3 companies.

  • Industry Programme Lead for a major (>£3M) change programme standardising the way Air Safety is delivered in a major Public-Sector Acquisition organisation, to realise efficiency and effectiveness benefits and improve resource deployment flexibility.

  • Responsible for the delivery of the joint organisational change programme to establish a Joint Authority-Industry Team with shared responsibility for outputs of a multi-£M equipment fleet to enable cost savings and ensure a sustainable enterprise. 

Career Summary

Charles’ initial career focus was aerospace and systems engineering, leading on the development of the requirements definitions for a range of complex multi-million pound procurement projects.

He then transitioned into large and complex programme and change management, acting as the industry lead for major multi-million pound public sector change programmes in the air and maritime domains.

Charles co-founded Pointer Consultancy Group in 2018, and has delivered several successful multi-£M bids for clients and project-managed a range a technology demonstrator drone projects.

Hobbies and Interests

Road cycling, mountain biking, sport climbing and snowboarding.
